![]() Vorinclex has two abilities that revolve around +1/+1 counters. One of these archetypes is Hydra tribal, where Vorinclex very comfortably fits in and starts to cause havoc just by being cast. While it struggles to escape the reputation of Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, it acts as an incredible commander for a couple of fan-favorite archetypes. ![]() Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider is the newest card on this list, being introduced in 2021's Kaldheim set. Combine this ability with Hydra tribal staples like The Ozolith and Vastwood Hydra, and you'll have plenty of counters on Animar in no time at all. Every time a creature spell is cast, Animar's first ability triggers, adding a +1/+1 to Animar. While a couple of extra pieces of mana isn't incredible on its own, Animar also has a built-in way of ramping the power of its mana ability over time. Since most Hydras don't have generic costs to reduce, this mana is instead automatically pumped into the X section of a Hydra's mana cost, essentially giving it a free power and toughness boost. It usually sees play in Morph decks, but it's also an excellent choice for a Hydra deck, thanks to its two abilities that focus on creatures and generic mana costs.Īnimar's main draw for Hydra tribal players is its mana reduction ability, which reduces the cost of creature spells for one generic mana for each +1/+1 counter on Animar. ![]() Animar, Soul of elements is one of the best Temur (green/blue/red) commanders.
